Neutralization assay of recombinant human Lymphotoxin-a/TNF-ß induces cytotoxicity in the the L-929 mouse fibroblast cell line in a dose-dependent manner (orange line). Cytotoxicity elicited by recombinant human Lymphotoxin-a/TNF-ß (0.25 ng/mL) is neutralized (green line) by increasing concentrations of mouse Anti-human Lymphotoxin-a/TNF-ß Monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-23801). The ND50 is typically 0.03-0.09 µg/mL in the presence of the metabolic inhibitor actinomycin D (1 µg/mL).

In sandwich ELISAs, approximately 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse TNF- beta is observed and no cross-reactivity with bovine FGF acidic, recombinant human (rh) GM-CSF, rhIL-1 alpha, rhIL-1 beta, rhIL-2, rhIL-3, rhIL-4, rhIL-6, rhIL-8, rhTNF- alpha, rhPDGF, rpPDGF, rhTGF- beta 1, recombinant porcine (rp) TGF- beta 1, rpTGF- beta 1.2, or rpTGF- beta 2 is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Endoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of the antibody by the LAL method.
The encoded protein, a member of the tumor necrosis factor family, is a cytokine produced by lymphocytes. The protein is highly inducible, secreted, and forms heterotrimers with lymphotoxin-beta which anchor lymphotoxin-alpha to the cell surface. This protein also mediates a large variety of inflammatory, immunostimulatory, and antiviral responses, is involved in the formation of secondary lymphoid organs during development and plays a role in apoptosis. Genetic variations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to leprosy type 4 and psoriatic arthritis.
