MA1-21418 detects Avidin in Chicken samples.
MA1-21418 has been successfully used in ELISA and Western Blot procedures.
MA1-21418 immunogen corresponds to Egg white avidin.
Store at 4°C short term. For extended storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
The biological function of avidin is not known. It is a homotetrameric glycoprotein found in chicken egg white, and forms a strong non-covalent specific complex with biotin (one molecule of biotin per subunit of avidin).
