PA1-27149 detects Candida albicans from a wide range of yeast samples. PA1-27149 will not react with human serum, urine, or spinal fluid.
PA1-27149 has been successfully used in ELISA, IHC and Western blot procedures.
The PA1-27149 immunogen is Candida albicans, type A .
Candida albicans is the most frequently isolated fungal pathogen of humans, affecting immuocompromised patients ranging from premature infants to AIDS sufferers. Systemic infections have an attributed mortality of 30-50%. C. albicans is a diploid organism which has eight sets of homologous chromosomes.
