PA1-21421 cross reacts with human osteopontin peptide (164-179). It does not cross react with human osteopontin peptide (75-90), human osteonectin or human bone sialoprotein.
PA1-21421 has been successfully used in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) procedures.
PA1-21421 immunogen corresponds to synthetic Human Osteopontin peptide (164-179) (QYPDATDEDITSHMES) KLH conjugated.
Osteopontin is the principal phosphorylated glycoprotein of bone and is expressed in a limited number of other tissues including dentine. Osteopontin is produced by osteoblasts under stimulation by calcitriol and binds tightly to hydroxyapatite. It is also involved in the anchoring of osteoclasts to the mineral of bone matrix via the vitronectin receptor, which has specificity for osteopontin.
