MA1-91399 detects beta Actin from Xenopus laevis, fish, Drosophila melanogaster, canine, bovine, feline, guinea pig, human, mouse, porcine, rabbit, rat and ovine samples.
MA1-91399 has been successfully used in immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry (frozen tissue), immunomicroscopy, Western blot, ELISA, dot blot and immunohistochemistry (paraffin tissue) applications. Positive control of cultured human or chicken fibroblasts suggested.
The MA1-91399 immunogen is synthetic peptide; DDDIAALVIDNGSGL, conjugated to KLH, corresponding to amino acids 1-14 of Xenopus laevis Actin (beta).
This gene encodes one of six different actin proteins. Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in cell motility, structure, and integrity. This actin is a major constituent of the contractile apparatus and one of the two nonmuscle cytoskeletal actins.
