KingFisher automated purification systems are designed to adapt to your changing research needs. That’s why we include BindIt PC software with all KingFisher instruments so that you can create, modify and store your protocols. You can also search and download automated protocols for our MagMAX nucleic acid purification kits, and Dynabead and Pierce protein purification beads and kits.

Create and store protocols using Thermo Scientific BindIt Software for Thermo Scientific KingFisher instrument systems. Once a protocol has been created, the protocol can either be transferred to your KingFisher instrument memory or executed directly from the software. Based on a step list, the parameters for the active step are shown on the screen. All steps have default parameters which can be changed according to the demands of the application. Alternatively, download and execute protocols from our extensive library.

Features of BindIt Software

  • Compatible with open-platform KingFisher instrument systems
  • Allows KIngFisher plates and reagents to be defined in the plate layout
  • Generates status reports that include run log, plate layout, and step parameters

 Instructions for downloading and installing protocols:

  1. Make sure you have BindIt 4.0 Software installed in your computer
  2. Click the protocol in the table (DNA/RNA protocols, Protein protocols). Protocol opens directly in BindIt Software
  3. Save the protocol in your computer in the preferred folder.
  4. Connect your PC with USB cable to KingFisher instrument and select Home> Connect in BindIt Software.
  5. You can start the protocol from the BindIt or transfer it into instrument. If you transfer the protocol select Home > Transfer in BindIt Software.
  6. Select Upload and find the saved protocol. Click open.
  7. Select the folder (category) you want to store the protocol in the instrument.
  8. Your protocol can be now found in the instrument memory.
  9. Disconnect your instrument from BindIt and check using keypad that you protocol is in the desired folder.

Direct protocols involve incubating beads and antibody first (either to bind or covalently couple the IP antibody), and then incubating the bead-antibody complex with the sample.

Instructions for downloading and installing protocols:

  1. Make sure you have BindIt 4.0 Software installed in your computer
  2. Click the protocol in the table. Protocol opens directly in BindIt Software
  3. Save the protocol in your computer in the preferred folder.
  4. Connect your PC with USB cable to KingFisher instrument and select Home> Connect in BindIt Software.
  5. You can start the protocol from the BindIt or transfer it into instrument. If you transfer the protocol select Home > Transfer in BindIt Software.
  6. Select Upload and find the saved protocol. Click open.
  7. Select the folder (category) you want to store the protocol in the instrument.
  8. Your protocol can be now found in the instrument memory.
  9. Disconnect your instrument from BindIt and check using keypad that you protocol is in the desired folder.
