Life Technologies kicked off the New Year at the 2011 JP Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco.

Building off of momentum from the launch of Ion Torrent’s Personal Genome Machine, Life Technologies announced an instant tenfold increase in capacity of the PGM, a new FlowChip for SOLiD, and new LifeScope software, all of which help democratize sequencing for new applications and users. The company also announced a $500 million share repurchase program.
