Absolute quantification at your fingertips

Absolute quantification by digital PCR is made possible by thousands of individual reactions running in parallel. Manufactured from a silicon substrate and etched with 20,000 consistently sized nanoscale reaction wells, the Applied Biosystems™ QuantStudio™ 3D Digital PCR Chip enables more controlled sample loading and less reaction dropout than droplet-based approaches, ensuring higher precision for absolute quantification.


Digital PCR extends the performance of existing TaqMan Assays, enabling applications that benefit from higher sensitivity, precision, or absolute quantification. Such applications include rare mutation detection (otherwise known as looking for a needle in a haystack such as in cancer samples), virus and bacteria quantification and detection (getting an absolute count of pathogens detected), genetically-modified organism detection (detecting a GMO seed where in places it shouldn’t be), next-generation sequencing workflow optimization (accurately quantifying NGS libraries and validating sequencing results), and reference standard quantification (developing a reference for your real‐time experiment when it doesn’t exist).
