Graduate Leadership Development Program – General Management Track

 

Program Summary

The Thermo Fisher Scientific Graduate Leadership Development Program – General Management Track (GLDP - GM) provides a unique opportunity for high potential advanced degree graduates to develop the skills necessary for a career as General Managers at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

 

Stakeholders

The program is managed by a dedicated Program Manager with oversight by senior company leaders.

 

Program Design

Multiple rotation assignments over two years provide broad experience to the different facets of general management while allowing for exposure to the company’s core processes, technologies, and leaders. Rotations are determined through a combination of individual development needs and business priorities and may be located at any US Thermo Fisher Scientific location.

 

Additional learning opportunities round out the two year development program and include: three formal learning sessions, an Executive Mentor program, monthly meetings, and a network of Graduate Leadership Development Program graduates across the company.

 

Relocation is required both during and after completion of the program.

Off Program

The GLDP - GM program affords participants an outstanding opportunity to produce results, quickly gain credibility and develop a strong company network over two years. Program Summary

The Thermo Fisher Scientific Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) is designed to accelerate early career development of high potential college graduates and prepare them for upwardly mobile careers within finance at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

 

Stakeholders

The program is managed by a dedicated Program Manager with oversight by the CFO and company finance leadership team.

 

Program Design

The program prepares participants for roles of increasing responsibility through a combination of rotational assignments, structured learning, formalized feedback, and mentoring. Program participants will have the opportunity to interact with senior finance leaders and participate in various key financial initiatives.

 

FLDPs remain in one geographic region for the length of the two year program. Current program locations are in PA and MA. Geographic flexibility is required upon completion of the program.

Off Program

Qualifications:

  • Full time student completing Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting before July 2011
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong desire and motivation to develop a career as a future leader in finance
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Related work or internship experience
  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement
  • Results oriented through initiative, ownership and accountability
  • Geographic flexibility is required upon completion of the program

Program Design

Program participants will have the opportunity to interact with senior IT leaders and participate in various key IT initiatives.

 

ITLDPs have four, 6-month rotation assignments during the two year program.  All participants will spend 1 year in the Boston, Massachusetts area and 1 year in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Relocation is required both during and after completion of the program.

Off Program

Qualifications:

  • Full time student completing Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or other related degree before July 2011
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Related work or internship experience
  • Strong desire to develop a career as a future leader in Information Technology

  • Full time student completing a Bachelors degree in Operations, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management or other related discipline before July 2011 or prior military experience as a Junior Military Officer
  • Strong desire and motivation to develop a career as a future leader in manufacturing/operations
  • Related work or internship experience strongly desired
  • Strong leadership and teambuilding skills
