Thermo Fisher Scientific Debuts New General Purpose 3L Centrifuges at ACHEMA 2009Thermo Scientific Heraeus Megafuge 40 and Heraeus Multifuge X3 Centrifuge Series Features Breakthrough Technology for High-Quality Results FRANKFURT (May 11, 2009) - Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, will debut its new Thermo Scientific Heraeus three-liter general purpose centrifuge series at ACHEMA 2009. The Thermo Scientific Heraeus Megafuge 40 centrifuge series provides industry-leading capacity and ergonomics for routine sample preparations. The Thermo Scientific Heraeus Multifuge X3 centrifuges incorporate patented market-leading technology for superior high-throughput processing. With a compact and user-friendly design, both centrifuge lines combine energy efficiency with innovation for high-quality result. The Mutlifuge X3 will be showcased on booth B1-C11, Hall 6.1 at ACHEMA 2009 in Frankfurt, Germany, from May 11-15, 2009. Both the Heraeus® Megafuge® 40 and the Heraeus Multifuge® X3 lines feature the Auto-Lock® III rotor system, which enables 5 second rotor installation and removal for fast switching between applications. Operation is further simplified with the ClickSeal® bucket sealing system, eliminating screw caps and complicated clips with a glove-friendly, one-handed open/close capability. With advanced rotor management SMARTSpin® technology, acceleration, braking, temperature control and load balance is optimized for smooth runs and reproducible data. The user-friendly, backlit interface provides detailed information on a wide range of operating parameters and the dedicated fast-keys enable immediate access to frequently used programs. In addition, the comprehensive control panel of the Heraeus Multifuge X3 centrifuge features a numeric keypad for immediate parameter entry, simultaneous display of both set and actual running parameters and double temperature and dual timing control. The high-performance of the Heraeus Multifuge X3 centrifuge is further maximized by the speed, versatility and corrosion-resistant design of the broad range of Fiberlite carbon fiber rotors.
