Thermo Fisher Scientific Introduces New Reaction Blocks at ACHEMA 2009

Thermo Scientific STEM Integrity 10 Reaction Blocks Enable Easy, Accurate Reaction Control

FRANKFURT (May 11, 2009) – Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, has launched its Thermo Scientific STEM Integrity 10 Reaction Block for determining compound solubility at ACHEMA 2009. This highly sensitive, 10-channel detection system accurately maintains conditions within each individual cell. With 10 independent temperature control zones, ranging from -30 to 150 °C, temperature is maintained by either the block itself or by using a probe within the solution. Furthermore, with a temperature stability of +/- 0.2 °C and a minimal setpoint overshoot of 0.1 °C, extreme accuracy is guaranteed. Each cell has wide stirring control of 250 to 1200 rpm and a working volume of between 2 ml and 25 ml. Controlled via the integrated microprocessor with a user-friendly intuitive touch-screen, operation is both safe and easy. The Integrity 10 will be showcased on booth B1-C11, Hall 6.1 at ACHEMA 2009 in Frankfurt, Germany, from May 11 – 15.

The Integrity 10 solubility and crystallization software provides full data logging of all key parameters, such as temperature and stirrer speed, using PC control. Experimental records and data are clearly displayed for convenient, at-a-glance monitoring of in-cell conditions. With real-time editing of ramp rates, run times and setpoints, the system is extremely user-friendly and all data is easily exported for further analysis. Additionally, data banks can be produced for simple storage and retrieval of frequently used protocols.

With the additional flexibility to use the STEM intrusive or non-intrusive IR turbidity probes, transitions can also be accurately measured, providing further functionality to the solubility process.
