Description

ThermoScript™ Reverse Transcriptase (RT) is an avian RT with reduced RNase H activity designed for RT-PCR (1). It is engineered to have high thermal stability (up to 70°C) (Figure 1), copy RNA with secondary structure, and improve priming specificity (2).

Yield—Reduced RNase H activity results in greater first-strand cDNA yields
Size of cDNA—Generation of RT-PCR products up to 12 kb
Thermostability—ThermoScript™ Reverse Transcriptase is active up to 70°C
Flexibility—Uses either total or poly(A)+ RNA

Unit Definition: One unit incorporates 1 nmol of dTTP into acid-precipitable material in 10 min at 37°C using poly(A)-oligo(dT)25 as template-primer.

ThermoScript™ RT is supplied with a vial of 5X cDNA synthesis buffer [250 mM Tris acetate (pH 8.4), 375 mM potassium acetate, 40 mM magnesium acetate, and stabilizers], and a vial of 100 mM DTT. Store at -70°C. Guaranteed stable for 6 months when properly stored.
