Cleaner air for China

As China experiences dangerously high levels of particulate matter and other toxins in the air, negative health effects on residents are a top concern.  Ozone, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate dust particles are harmful substances when inhaled.  Particulate matter that is very small, smaller than 2.5 microns in diameter, is referred to as PM2.5 and it can enter deep into the lungs causing cancer and other lung disease.  Measuring the pollutants in the air is a critical step toward cleaner air.  The most reliable and accurate technology for measuring PM 2.5 are tapered element oscillating microbalances (TEOM) and beta attenuation technologies.

Complying With Mercury Emissions Regulations

In order to comply with Under the Interim EPA Traceability Protocol, there are four approved methods to quality check a mercury generator: field reference generator, permeation source, sorbent tube and mercury gas cylinder. While each method provides the same level of compliance, the permeation tube method is the best way to extend the certification. The permeation tube generates a known and reliable concentration of mercury at a constant temperature and flow. This allows for automated audits confirming the reliability of the calibrator output.
