Cyclophilin A (CypA) is a member of the cyclophilin family of peptidylprolyl isomerases. CypA participates in protein folding and intracellular protein transport. Like the other cyclophilins, cyclophilin A is a cyclosporin binding protein and has a part in cyclosporin A-mediated immunosuppression. Cyclophilin A also interacts with several HIV proteins and has been shown to be required for the formation of infectious HIV virions.
Cyclophilin A is an excellent western blot loading control as it is the most abundant and ubiquitous cyclophilin in vertebrate tissue. We offer a number of quality Invitrogen cyclophilin A antibodies for a variety of research needs.
