Which serum-free media can be used to culture human keratinocytes?

Product FAQ

Answer

There are a variety of options for serum-free culture of human keratinocytes. Keratinocyte SFM (catalog # 17005-042) is a widely used kit that includes the basal medium, bovine pituitary extract (BPE) and Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF). If you would like a serum-free, defined culture system, the options are the Defined Keratinocyte SFM kit (catalog #10744-019) or Epilife™ medium (catalog # M-EPI-500-CA) supplemented with EDGS (catalog # S-012-5). If you would like an animal origin free defined system, Epilife™ medium (catalog # M-EPI-500-CA) with S7 supplement (catalog # S-017-5) is an excellent choice.
