Fluorescent cell imaging reagents
A 60 sec time course shows the resistance to photobleaching achieved with ProLong Glass antifade mountant. Fixed HeLa cells were labeled with Invitrogen Fluorescein Phalloidin and mounted in ProLong Glass antifade mountant or 50% phosphate-buffered saline (PBS)/glycerol solution. Images were acquired at 12 sec intervals using a 20x objective with continuous illumination from a standard 100 W Hg-arc lamp.

Lipofectamine 3000 reagent outperforms Invitrogen Lipofectamine 2000 and FuGENE HD reagents. PUBLIC VOTING: An image screening step will take place before images are placed in the #LetCellsGlow Gallery for the public voting period. Images are screened for clarity , minimal resolution, and appropriateness, Public voting for Contest 1, to determine Finalists will start on May 1, 2018 at 12:01 a.m. US Pacific Time and will close on May 6, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. US Pacific Time. To vote, visit thermofisher.com/LetCellsGlow webpage, visit the Image Gallery, and then vote for your top five favorite images on the form. You may participate in a voting session only once per contest period.

Public voting, for Contest 2, to determine Finalists will start on June 11, 2018 at 12:01 a.m. US Pacific Time and will close on June 15, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. US Pacific Time.

Only votes received from North America will be counted towards determining a winner.

CONTEST CANCELLATION/MODIFICATION: There must be a minimum of sixteen (16) qualified entries in order to proceed to public voting. If the minimum number of entries is not met, the Contest will be cancelled. Should the contest be cancelled, the announcement will be posted on the thermofisher.com/LetCellsGlow page

Judges’ decisions are final on all matters and shall not be subject to challenge or appeal. In addition, the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend this Contest should any virus, bug, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the voting process. SELECTION OF WINNERS: Fifteen winners (each a "Winner") will be selected on May 11, 2018 from all eligible entries received for Contest 1 and another fifteen winners (each a "Winner") will be selected on June 18, 2018 from all eligible entries received for Contest 2. Each Winner will be notified by email within approximately 14 days after the drawing date. Winners will be selected by a panel of qualified judges comprised of three of the Sponsor’s R&D scientists with backgrounds in cell imaging. Criteria for judging the winning entries will be based on the following criteria:

60% image Quality, Resolution, Vividness and Clarity of Colors.

40% Number of public votes

If a winner is unreachable or does not make direct contact with the Sponsor by the date specified in the notification, or fails to accept the prize, the prize will be forfeited in its entirety and the submission that came in second in the judging will be selected as a winner. The Winner must execute and return an affidavit of eligibility and a liability release.  If the Winner fails to do so, the prize will be forfeited in its entirety and an alternate winner will be selected from the remaining eligible entries.  The Winner must warrant that she or he is not a Healthcare Professional, a US federal or state government employee, nor prohibited by employment, contract, or law from entering the Contest or accepting a prize from the Sponsor.

PRIZE: Each Winner will receive one glow-in-the-dark #LetCellsGlow T-Shirt (retail value approximately $15 USD). No cash or other substitutions are permitted, except by the Sponsor, which reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value. No refunds or credits are allowed.  The prize is not transferable.  All taxes on the prize and reporting thereof are the sole responsibility of the Winner.  

By entering the Contest, each participant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects.

PUBLICITY: Sponsor will publish the name of the Winners and image submitted by the Winners.  The Winner consents to the use by Sponsor of Winner’s name and images submitted in Sponsor’s press releases, announcements, or other marketing literature.
