1 µg/mL of MA5-45314 was sufficient for detection of 150 ng of alginate-conjugated BSA by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. |Binds selectively to a BSA-conjugated alginate, but not to unconjugated BSA.
Sodium alginate is used in biological experiments for the immobilization of cells and encapsulation due to its biocompatibility and simple gelation with divalent cations such as Ca2+. Studies suggest that preparation of alginate microspheres will sustain protein delivery within tissue scaffolds, as well as in many other cell types.
