BECN1 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — HEK293T cells were transfected with the pCMV6-ENTRY control (Left lane) or pCMV6-ENTRY BECN1 (RC201629, Right lane) cDNA for 48 hrs and lysed. Equivalent amounts of cell lysates (5 µg per lane) were separated by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-BECN1. Positive lysates LY401239 (100 µg) and LC401239 (20 µg) can be purchased separately from OriGene.

BECN1 Antibody in Flow Cytometry (Flow) — HEK293T cells transfected with either RC201629 overexpress plasmid (Red) or empty vector control plasmid (Blue) were immunostained by anti-BECN1 antibody (TA502527), and then analyzed by flow cytometry.

Target Information

Beclin 1 plays a central role in autophagy. It acts as a core subunit of the PI3K complex that mediates formation of phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate. Different PI3K complex forms are believed to play a role in multiple membrane trafficking pathways - PI3KC3-C1 is involved in the initation of autophagosomes and PI3KC3-C2 is involved in the maturation of autophagosomes and endocytosis. Beclin 1 also plays a role in antiviral host defense.
