MA1-23160 detects BRCA1 in Human samples. This antibody does not recognize the delta exon 11 splice variant of BRCA1.
MA1-23160 has been successfully used in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot procedures.
MA1-23160 immunogen corresponds to protein fragment expressed in E. coli corresponding to amino acids 762-1315.
The antigen used to product MA1-23160 has a predicted molecular weight of ~208 kDa.
Store at 4°C short term. For extended storage aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
BRCA1-17F8 recognizes full-length BRCA1, a 220kDa nuclear phosphoprotein, and does not recognize the exon 11 splice variant. In a high proportion of breast and ovarian cancer cell lines, BRCA1 aberrantly mislocates to the cytoplasm. Its usefulness to monitor functional inactivation of BRCA1 in sporadic breast cancers is under active investigation.
