In Western blots, approximately 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse CCL4/MIP-1 beta is observed and no cross-reactivity with recombinant human CCL1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, recombinant mouse CCL1, 2, 6, 7, 9/10/MIP-1 gamma, 11, 12, 19, 21, 22, 25, 28, recombinant rat CCL2 or CCL20 is observed.
Macrophage inflammatory protein-1a (MIP-1a) is an 8kDa member of the C-C chemokine subfamily. C-C chemokines are chemoattractants and activators for monocytes and T cells. MIP-1a has been identified as one of the major HIV-SFs produced by CD8+ T cells, along with MIP-1b and RANTES.
