Immunohistochemistry: Human Tonsil (FFPE) stained with Mouse anti- CD235a (Cat#604-370) at 1:200 for 10 min @ RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissue requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.

Target Information
CD235a (Glycophorins A, GPA) is a single pass membrane sialoglycoprotein expressed in mature erythrocytes and erythroid precursor cells. CD235a is the carrier of blood group M and N specificities. CD235a provides cells with a large mucin-like that may serve as a barrier to cell fusion, minimizing aggregation between red blood cells in the circulation. CD235a has been shown to act as a receptor for Sandei virus, parvovirus, and Hsa, an Streptococcus adhesin.
