This antibody is a monoclonal mixture of FITC-conjugated CD7 (clone MG34, isotype IgG2a), PE-conjugated CD33 (clone FOS, isotype IgG1) and PE-conjugated CD13 (clone E735, isotype IgG1).
CD7 is a 40kD transmembrane, single-chain glycoprotein. CD7 is expressed by majority of peripheral blood T cells, NK cells and all Thymocytes. The presence or absence of CD7 is a useful marker for the classification of T- and NK-cell malignancies. The CD7 molecule is absent in a subset of human T cells under certain physiologic conditions. Thus an increase in CD7 negative T cells can be seen in some inflammatory skin disease. This antibody recognizes the human CD13 cell surface glycoprotein, a 150kD molecule expressed by granulocytes and monocytes, and by myeloid leukemia cells. Inhibits infection of cells by human coronavirus, inhibits aminopeptidase N activity of the CD13 molecule immunoprecipitates. MA1-22542 detects CD13 in Human samples. CD33 is found on granulocyte and macrophage precursors in the bone marrow, but is not on pluripotent stem cells. The protein is also expressed on, and is a useful marker for, peripheral monocytes. It is also useful for distinguishing myelogenous leukaemia cells from lymphoid or erythroid leukaemias.
