PA5-28696 targets CoA synthase in IF, IHC (P), and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human and mouse samples.
The PA5-28696 immunogen is recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 256 and 564 of Human CoA synthase.
Biosynthesis of coenzyme A (CoA) from pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) is an essential universal pathway in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. COASY is a bifunctional enzyme that catalyzes the 2 last steps in CoA synthesis. These activities are performed by 2 separate enzymes, phosphopantetheine adenylyltransferase (PPAT; EC 126.96.36.199) and dephospho-CoA kinase (DPCK; EC 188.8.131.52), in prokaryotes (Daugherty et al., 2002 [PubMed 11923312]).
