MA1-22148 detects Type IV Collagen in human and non-human primate samples. This antibody will not crossreact with feline, chicken, goat, rabbit, rat, or ovine.
MA1-22148 has been successfully used in ELISA, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin), dot blot and Western blot procedures. Positive control of human tissue.
The MA1-22148 immunogen is purified full length native human Collagen IV. This antibody detects an epitope on the alpha-1 and/or alpha-2 chains of human Collagen IV.
Collagen IV is a major constituent of the basement membranes along with laminins and enactins. It is composed of alpha 1 IV chain and alpha 2 IV chain in 2:1 ratio . It can form insoluble fibers with high tensile strength. Antibody to collagen IV is useful in detecting the loss of parts of basement membrane in carcinomas.
