AA Sequence of recombinant protein: ACYCRIPACI AGERRYGTCI YQGRLWAFCC.
Preparation: Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human NP-1. Anti-Human NP-1-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human NP-1 matrix.
Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human NP-1 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human NP-1 (500-P126GBt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human NP-1.
Western Blot: To detect Human NP-1 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1- 0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Human NP-1 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Defensins are a family of microbicidal and cytotoxic peptides thought to be involved in host defense. They are abundant in the granules of neutrophils and also found in the epithelia of mucosal surfaces such as those of the intestine, respiratory tract, urinary tract, and vagina. Members of the defensin family are highly similar in protein sequence and distinguished by a conserved cysteine motif. The protein encoded by this gene, defensin, alpha 1, is found in the microbicidal granules of neutrophils and likely plays a role in phagocyte-mediated host defense. Several alpha defensin genes are clustered on chromosome 8. This gene differs from defensin, alpha 3 by only one amino acid. This gene and the gene encoding defensin, alpha 3 are both subject to copy number variation.
