This antibody does not neutralize the enzymatic activity of its corresponding methyltransferase.
Prior to immunostaining paraffin tissues, antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended.
Suggested positive control: antigen standard for DNMT3A (transient overexpression lysate), HCT116 cell lysates.
Inactivation of tumor suppressor genes is a key component of the development of all common forms of human cancers. Aberrant methylation may contribute to many of the changes, both physiological and pathological, associated with aging, including tumor development. Hypermethylation of CpG island-containing promoters is associated with the inactivation of genes important to tumor angiogenesis and progression. DNA methytransferase (DNMT3a) is necessary for the maintenance of the methylation process.
