This clone recognizes the α-like subunit, as determined by SDS-PAGE. This monoclonal antibody is useful for cell purification, delineating lineage relationships among cells with dendritic morphology, and for molecular studies.
CD103, or Integrin alpha-E2, was originally identified on rat veiled dendritic cells, and is expressed by dendritic epidermal T cells in the skin, intraepithelial lymphocytes in the small intestine and by dendritic cells associated with gamma/delta T cells. Integrins are a family of heterodimeric proteins which contain non-covalently associated alpha and beta transmembrane glycoproteins. Integrins function as receptors for extracellular matrix and cell-cell adhesion molecules.
