PA1-31316 detects ERp57 from human samples.
PA1-31316 has been successfully used in Western blot and ELISA applications.
The PA1-31316 immunogen is: Synthetic peptide: EEKPKKKKKAQEDL, corresponding to C terminal amino acids 492-505 of Human ERp57.
ERp57, also known as GRP58, was cloned by three independent labs, all of which reported that the gene encodes a 505-amino acid protein that shares significant homology with the molecular chaperone protein disulfide isomerase (PDI). The ERp57 sequence was also shown to include a putative nuclear localization motif and an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) retention motif. Studies have shown that ERp57 functions together with calnexin and calreticulin as a molecular chaperone of glycoprotein biosynthesis within the ER.
