MA1-24653 detects Eotaxin 2 from human samples.
MA1-24653 has been successfully used in inhibition and neutralization assays, and Western blot procedures. The Neutralization Dose50 (ND50) for this antibody is approximately 1 to 5 ug/ml in the presence of 100 ng/ml of recombinant human eotaxin 2, measuring the chemotaxis of rat myeloid Y3 cells transfected with the human CCR3 gene.

Eotaxin is a 74-amino acid, eosinophil-chemotactic CC chemokine originally found in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid from allergic inflammatory subjects. It is involved in regulating the recruitment and activation of inflammatory leukocytes, particularly eosinophils. Eotaxin binds and activates the CCR3 chemokine receptor, and may play a fundamental role in the development of allergic responses.
