The MA5-12360 immunogen is recombinant protein corresponding to C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of human EAAT2.
Human excitatory amino acid transportes regulating neurotransmitter concentrations at the excitatory glutamatertic synapses of the mammalian central nervous system. They reduce extracellular glutamate concentration modulating synaptic signaling which helps reduce the risk of excitotoxicity. Expression of EATT2 is restricted to motor cortex area of the brain. EATT1 blocks the transport mediated by EATT2. EATT2 shares homology to L-glutamate transporter (GLT-1) from brain tissue.
