GABA-A-R-Gamma2L refers to the long splice variant of the gamma2 subunit of the GABA-A receptor, which is a major inhibitory neurotransmitter receptor in the central nervous system. The gamma2 subunit is critical for the receptor's proper assembly, trafficking, and synaptic localization, and it influences the receptor's pharmacological properties, including its sensitivity to benzodiazepines. Mutations or alterations in the gamma2 subunit, including the gamma2L variant, can affect inhibitory neurotransmission and are associated with neurological disorders such as epilepsy and anxiety.
