PA1-4146 detects GABA Receptor Associated Protein Subunit 2 in human and rat samples.
PA1-4146 has been successfully used Western blot procedures. By Western blot this antibody detects a ~105 kDa protein representing GABA Receptor Associated Protein Subunit 2 in brain lysate.
The PA1-4146 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues T(42) R G A P R P P P S S P P(54) of the 105 kDa rat GABA R2 protein.
The inhibitory neurotransmitter, GABA, acts through two ligand-gated channels, GABAA and GABAC receptors and GABAB, the latter of which acts through a G protein mechanism. GABABR2 is one of the two G-protein coupled receptors for GABAB that acts as a heteromeric assembly with GABABR1.
