MA5-11642 targets CD42b in IHC (P) and FACS applications and shows reactivity with Human samples.
The MA5-11642 immunogen is recombinant CD42b.
The CD42b glycoprotein, also known as GPIb, is a co-factor of ristocetin-induced aggregation and is involved in the binding of platelets to blood vessel walls. The CD42b antigen is expressed on platelets and on megakaryocytes in bone marrow. The absence of CD42b antigen on platelets may indicate Bernard-Soulier disease.

Redox control of β2-glycoprotein I-von Willebrand factor interaction by thioredoxin-1.
MA5-11642 was used in immunocytochemistry to investigate the interaction between beta2-GPI and von Willebrand factor and the effect of thioredoxin-1 on this interaction

Crystal structure of a platelet-agglutinating factor isolated from the venom of Taiwan habu (Trimeresurus mucrosquamatus).
MA5-11642 was used in blocking or activating experiment to determine the crystal structure of the tetrameric platelet aggregating factor mucrocetin purified from snake venom
