Gelsolin Antibody in Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) (IHC (P)) — Gelsolin Monoclonal Antibody (GT1656) detects Gelsolin protein at cytoplasm in rat muscle by immunohistochemical analysis. Sample: Paraffin-embedded rat muscle. Gelsolin Monoclonal Antibody (GT1656) (Product # MA5-27752) diluted at 1:200. Antigen Retrieval: Citrate buffer, pH 6.0, 15 min.

Gelsolin Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — Western Blot using Gelsolin Monoclonal Antibody (GT1656) (Product # MA5-27752). Mouse tissue extract (50 µg) was separated by 7.5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with Gelsolin Monoclonal Antibody (GT1656) (Product # MA5-27752) diluted at 1:1,000. The HRP-conjugated anti-mouse IgG antibody was used to detect the primary antibody.

Gelsolin Antibody — Antibody specificity was demonstrated by shRNA mediated knockdown of target protein. HeLa cells were transfected with Gelsolin shRNA and decrease in signal intensity was observed in Western blotting using Anti-Gelsolin Monoclonal Antibody (GT1656) (Product # MA5-27752). {KD}

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene binds to the "plus" ends of actin monomers and filaments to prevent monomer exchange. The encoded calcium-regulated protein functions in both assembly and disassembly of actin filaments. Defects in this gene are a cause of familial amyloidosis Finnish type (FAF). Multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene.
