Western blot analysis of HMGB1 in (lane 1) mouse kidney (lane 2) HeLa (lane 3) HeLa nuclear (lane 4) Jurkat (lane 5) HEK-293T (lane 6) MDCK (lane 7) PC12 (lane 8) NIH-3T3 (lane 9) P19 lysates. Samples were separated on SDS-PAGE and probed with a HMGB1 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA1-20338) at a dilution of 1 µg/ml. The antibody was developed using a Goat Anti-mouse IgG-Peroxidase and a chemiluminescent substrate.

MA1-20338 detects HMGB1 in human, mouse, chicken, rat, and canine samples.
MA1-20338 has been successfully used in ELISA and Western blot procedures.
The MA1-20338 immunogen is recombinant, full length, human HMGB1 protein.
HMG1 and HMG2, chromatin non-histone high mobility group proteins 1 and 2, are 27 and 25 kDa members of a family of proteins containing multiple HMG-boxes, conserved domains of 80 amino acids which mediate DNA binding of many proteins. HMG box domains recognize DNA structure, such as prebent, supercoiled or four way junction DNA, and non- specific DNA sequences. HMG1/2 may serve as architectural factors that recognize and mediate DNA structural changes that accompany various events such as DNA repair, transcription and replication.
