HYB 131-11-02 is specific for MBL from human serum or plasma.
HYB 131-11-02 has been successfully used in ELISA and Western blotting procedures. HYB 131-11-02 reacts with human MBL both in its polymeric state and as a single subunit of molecular mass 26 kDa.
The HYB 131-11-02 immunogen is human MBL.
Epitope specificity differs from that of HYB 131-01-02 and HYB 131-10-02.
NOTE: Concentration is lot-dependent and can vary from 0.85-1.15 mg/mL
MBL2 is a calcium-dependent lectin involved in innate immune defense. It binds mannose, fucose and N-acetylglucosamine on different microorganisms and activates the lectin complement pathway. It also binds to late apoptotic cells, as well as to apoptotic blebs and to necrotic cells, but not to early apoptotic cells, facilitating their uptake by macrophages. MBL2 may bind DNA.
