Target Information
Helicobacter pylori urease C is a subunit of the urease enzyme complex produced by H. pylori a bacterium implicated in gastric ulcers and cancer. The urease enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of urea into ammonia and carbon dioxide neutralizing stomach acid and facilitating bacterial survival in the acidic gastric environment. Urease C along with other subunits contributes to the enzyme's structure and function playing a crucial role in the pathogenesis of H. pylori-related diseases .
