HYB 116-02-02 detects the nucleoprotein (NP) of Influenza B virus. This antibody does not cross react with the the Influenza A virus in patient samples or purified Influenza A virus.
HYB 116-02-02 has been successfully used in Western blotting, ELISA and Immunofluorescence procedures. By ELISA, HYB 116-02-02 is suitable as capture antibody in combination with HYB 116-03-02 as detecting antibody. HYB 116-02-02 reacts with Influenza B virus, acetone-fixed Vero cells when diluted 1:1,000. Specific binding can be visualized by immunofluorescence using a polyclonal anti-mouse Ig antibody labeled with, for example, florescein.
The HYB 116-03-02 immunogen is Influenza B virus.
Epitope differs from HYB-116-02-02 as determnined by inhibition ELISA.

Influenza A and B are the two types of influenza viruses that cause epidemic human disease. Influenza B viruses currently circulating are divided into two antigenically and genetically distinct groups: the Victoria and Yamagata lineages. Influenza virus B is a genus in the virus family Orthomyxoviridae. A limited host range means that Influenza virus B pandemics are rare. The nucleoprotein protects the negative strand viral RNA from nucleases by encapsidating it. Encapsidated genomic RNA is termed the ribonucleoprotein (RNP) and serves as template for transcription and replication.
