J Chain Antibody in Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) (IHC (P)) — Immunohistochemistry was performed on paraffin-embedded human lymphoma tissue. To expose target proteins, 10mM citric buffer, pH6.0, 100°C for 10min was used. Following antigen retrieval, tissues were probed with a IGJ monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-25839).

J Chain Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — Western blot analysis of IGJ in HEK293T cells in untransfected (Left lane) and transfected (Right lane) samples using 5 µg per lane. The samples were separated by SDS-PAGE and probed with IGJ (Product # MA5-25839) monoclonal antibody.

Target Information

J chain is a small glycopeptide and is structurally unrelated to heavy or light chains, but is synthesized by all plasma cells that secrete polymeric immunoglobulins. J chain is linked to IgA and IgM by disulfide bonds, however, it has been detected in IgG- and IgD-containing cells. J chains are present in a large proportion of the immunoglobulin-positive cells in the germinal centers of the tonsil and lymph node. B cells secrete J chain at an early stage of differentiation with the expression persisting in those cells destined to produce IgA or IgM.
