PA1-16916 is specific for the ~140 kDa Jumonji protein.
Another band is seen >200 kDa and a faint band may be seen ~80 kDa.
Jumonji is a nuclear protein that participates in the negative regulation of cell growth. It is required for neural tube formation and is essential for normal heart development and function. As well, it is a part of a group of proteins characterized by a novel structural motif, the JmjC domain, which is implicated in chromatin regulation through histone demethylation.
