Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires digesting tissue sections with Pepsin for 10 min at 37°C, followed by incubation with primary antibody for 10 min at room temperature. A suggested positive control is skin or squamous cell carcinoma.
Keratin 14 belongs to the type A (acidic) subfamily of low molecular weight keratins and exists in combination with keratin 5. Keratin 14 has been studied as a prognostic marker in breast cancer.
