Lysosomes are membrane-bound vacuoles which play a critical role in cellular metabolism. Membrane-associated glycoproteins have an important role in normal lysosomal function. Lamp1, also known as lysosome associated membrane protein 1, is a heavily glycosylated membrane protein of the lysosome.
