RP-75550 contains a purified 127 amino acid fragment (aa1-127) of human FABP-L protein with an N-terminal hexahistidine tag.
RP-75550 may be used as a positive control in many immunological assays.
This protein has a molecular weight of ~18.71 kDa.
Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins (14-15kDa) that bind long chain fatty acids, their CoA derivatives, billiruben, organic anions and other small hydrophobic molecules. L-FABP (or FABP-1) is found predominantly in liver and is believed to be involved in the regulation of lipid transport and metabolism and is required for cholesterol synthesis and metabolism.
