PA1-1041 detects lysophosphatidic acid receptor 1 protein in rat, human, mouse, and Xenopus samples.
PA1-1041 has successfully been used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~42 kDa protein representing lysophosphatidic acid receptor 1 in PC12 and HeLa whole cell lysates as well as mouse and Xenopus liver samples.
The PA1-1041 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues L(348) N H T I L A G V H S N D H S V V(364) of human LPA1. The immunizing sequence is completely conserved in human, mouse, rat and bovine. This peptide (Cat. # PEP-233) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
Lysophosphatidic acid receptor 1 (LPA1, EDG2, VZG-1) is a seven transmembrane receptor coupled to G proteins and has high affinity to lypophosphatidic acid (LPA). LPA1 is a member of the EDG-family of receptors which includes LPA1, LPA2 and LPA3.
These receptors mediate the serum borne lipid mediator LPA for a variety biological functions. The activation of LPA1 by LPA has shown to stimulate cell spreading and motility, mitogenesis, and various other nervous system activities.
