Western blot of M Cadherin in whole cell lysates from COS-7 (lane 1) and human M-cadherin overexpressed in COS-7 cells (lane 2). Samples were separated on SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane, and probed using a M Cadherin monoclonal antibody (Product # MA1-91683) at a dilution of 0.5µg/ml for 1 hour at room temperature, followed by ECL detection at an exposure time of 30 seconds.

This gene encodes a type I integral membrane glycoprotein. The encoded protein acts as a receptor and binds to both soluble and immobilized hyaluronan. This protein may function in lymphatic hyaluronan transport and have a role in tumor metastasis.
