Western blot analysis of MRE11 using A) 30 µg Jurkat whole cell extract (B) 30 µg Raji whole cell extract and C) 30 µg NCI-H929 whole cell extract. Samples were loaded onto a 7.5% SDS-PAGE gel and probed with a MRE11 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA1-23253) at a dilution of 1:1000.

Mre11 is an 80 kDa protein that acts as a Mn+2 dependent double stranded DNA 3' to 5' exonuclease and a single stranded DNA endonuclease. It is part of a larger complex with Rad50, p95 (Nibrin) and possibly other associated proteins involved in the nucleolytic end-processing of double strand breaks and telomere maintenance.
