MA1-25584 detects Osteocalcin from human, rat, bovine, canine, goat, porcine, rabbit, and ovine samples. MA1-25584 will not react with mouse.
MA1-25584 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (frozen / paraffin) and Western blot procedures.
The MA1-25584 immunogen is full length bovine protein. This antibody detects an epitope corresponding to residues 21-31 of bovine Osteocalcin.
Osteocalcin belongs to the osteocalcin/matrix Gla-protein family and constitutes 1-2% of the total bone protein. It binds strongly to apatite and calcium. Gamma-carboxyglutamate residues are formed by vitamin K dependent carboxylation. These residues are essential for the binding of calcium.
