PA1-21097 detects PGP9.5 in human samples.
PA1-21097 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (paraffin) procedures. Staining of formalin fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
The PA1-21097 immunogen is recombinant full length human protein gene product 9.5 protein.
Protein gene product 9.5 (PGP9.5) is a member of a gene family whose products hydrolyze small C-terminal adducts of ubiquitin to generate the ubiquitin monomer. Expression of PGP9.5 is highly specific to neurons and to cells of the diffuse neuroendocrine system and their tumors. It is present in all neurons.
