Western blot analysis of PNK in yeast extract (lane 1) and yeast extract + AD-PNK human fusion protein using a PNK polyclonal antibody (Product # PA1-29915) at a dilution of 1:1000 after incubation for 1hr in TBST. The AD fusion is an Activation Domain fusion protein. The band representing PNK is marked by the arrow.

The PA1-29915 immunogen is: Peptide with sequence EPRLGRLYCQFSEG, from C Terminus of the protein sequence according to NP_009185.
The protein encoded by this gene phosphorylates vitamin B6, a step required for the conversion of vitamin B6 to pyridoxal-5-phosphate, an important cofactor in intermediary metabolism. The encoded protein is cytoplasmic and probably acts as a homodimer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, but their biological validity has not been determined.
