GRK5 and GRK6 (G protein-coupled receptor kinases 5 and 6) are members of the GRK family of serine/threonine kinases. These kinases play a crucial role in the regulation of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), which are involved in many physiological processes and are targets for a large number of drugs. Dysregulation of GRK5 and GRK6 has been implicated in various diseases, such as heart failure, hypertension, and certain psychiatric disorders. Their role in GPCR regulation makes them potential targets for therapeutic intervention in these conditions.
